Who are Our Clients?

Recently our recruitment agency decided to look closer at the current portrait of our client: who they are, where they are from, and what they do? We've been closely analysing inbound client requests to track the changes over the past two years. We excluded leads from the first six months of 2022, as we aimed to focus on a period when companies reaching out to us understood all the risks associated with the full-scale war in Ukraine.

We've studied the leads that we received since June 2022 and focused on 3 main parameters: country of origin, industry, role of those who reached out to us.

Location Analysis: 2022-2024 Dynamics.

The general picture is the following: 41% of recruitment requests that we received during the last 2 years are from Ukraine, 21% - from clients located in EU countries, 8% - from the UK companies, 5% - from the USA.

Ukrainian companies - still our main targeted audience. Skillers has always focused on recruitment within Ukraine, a market we've known inside out with our 18 years of experience. Prior to 2022, more than half of our received requests came from Ukrainian companies or international businesses with offices in Ukraine. However, this proportion dipped in 2022, with only a third of our leads originating from Ukraine as many companies postponed their activities due to the onset of full-scale war. By 2023, this figure rebounded to 55%, and the trend remains consistent in the first quarter of 2024, with 50% of our leads originating from Ukraine.

EU, UK and USA clients: In 2022, we experienced a notable increase in requests from EU-based clients, primarily seeking candidates willing to relocate. However, by 2023, this number decreased to 13%. The first quarter of 2024 is showing 38% of EU companies reaching out to us for recruitment services. Leads from UK based companies dropped from 17% in 2022 to 5% in 2023 and so far we did not have a single request from this region in 2024. Requests from USA clients remain at the same level during these years - around 4 - 6%.

Who’s contacting us?
We were also curious about the roles of the individuals reaching out to us. Here's what we discovered: 24% of requests originate from Recruiters and HR professionals, with an additional 4% from HRDs. Notably, 23% of leads come directly from CEOs. The third-largest group comprises Assistants - 13% of our inbound inquiries. Additionally, we receive requests from COOs, head of departments and other top managers - 6%.

Industry Insights

Delving deeper into the data, we segmented requests based on industries. The IT Service Provider services comprising our main audience segment with 35.7%. The rest of the leads we received represent: SaaS, Fintech, Hardware, Consulting, Marketing and others industries.

What do we do with this information?

Analysing this data we can see that the majority of requests we receive still originate from Ukrainian companies.  It’s reassuring to witness this continued market activity, even though the volume of requests is lower than pre-2022 levels.

Trying to enter new markets and being involved in global projects within the  NPA  since 2012, we can still see the importance  of working on our name and brand awareness, just as we did for years in Ukraine since 2005.

One of the most important insights we got is understanding who's on the other end of the line. Knowing what is the role of a person contacting us helps us to better understand their needs and challenges. With this knowledge, we're tailoring our communication, to engage each individual in the most effective manner and deliver precisely what they're anticipating.

So far, we have been most efficient with the highest conversion rate in communication with C-level executives. What's your story?
