Senior Android Developer

Our client - a leading VoIP app with a headquarter in the Netherlands is looking for an experienced Senior Android Developer to join their team remotely.

The company’s mission is to help everyone in the world to connect to friends and family. That’s why they have built a localized, easy-to-use, and reliable product for underserviced communities.

Their app is allowing affordable and reliable international calls to any offline landline or mobile phone in the world. As the call receiver does not need internet, app, or a smartphone, this solution was able to connect 2.4 million people in 2022, no matter where they were located or whether they had internet access.

Over 41% of the world doesn’t have a reliable internet connection. The most heavily hit by this are underserviced communities in Africa. They also often have no access to online banking or credit cards, as payment culture is diverse and scattered with cash and different wallets & cards. That’s why the app supports over 60 supported payment systems, 40 currencies, and 1.25 million cash points of sale in emerging countries.

The Role:

• Maintaining and improving a platform used by 200,000 globally in 190 countries.
• Bringing the app redesign to life.
• Adding new features to the app while maintaining a high-quality user experience.

What you should have:

• Strong experience with Android development (Kotlin).
• Good knowledge of Jetpack Compose / XML-based UI; Android Studio; Git.
• B2C app development experience.
• English language B2 level or higher fluency.

Good to have:

• Previous Swift/iOS experience or ambitions to learn it.
