VP of Engineering

ProSapient - a SaaS platform for managing expert networks that helps make better decisions is looking for an expert VP of Engineering to lead product development.

Every day, somewhere in the world, important decisions are made. Whether it is a private equity company deciding to invest millions into a business or a large corporation implementing a new strategic direction, these decisions impact employees, customers and other stakeholders. Consulting and private equity firms come to proSapient when they need to gather knowledge, critical to ensuring they make the right decision. And proSapinet provides them with this knowledge efficiently and collaboratively.

In the four years since proSapient was founded, it has grown to 250 colleagues. In order to support its growth, the company raised a $10m Series A round led by Smedvig Capital.

THE ROLE:

The company is looking for an experienced leader with strong abilities in fostering collaboration between the tech team and key business functions with the goal of delivering superior technical solutions.

You will be the bridge between the business and the product functioning, empowering current technical leadership (Engineering Director, Technical Director) and creating an engineering structure.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with the global leadership team and technical leadership to create an organizational structure in product development that guarantees success;
  • Empower current technical leadership to support the entire engineering function;
  • Set the technical vision of the business;
  • Work with technical leadership team to audit and continuously improve the fundamentals of company’s product (from the schemas to the tools used);
  • You must be a culture carrier, ensuring that the development culture that company is building remains and is improved upon;
  • Empower the team to ensure an extremely smooth and efficient development process from kick-off to deployment;
  • Responsible for architecting, maintaining, and evolving current technology;
  • An excellent communicator and collaborator, both internally to your team and across the wider business;
  • Support engineering leadership to improve on development and deployment methodologies, coding standards and testing;
  • Play a central role in our hiring and retaining of talented engineers;
  • Create a streamlined and high-quality recruitment process;
  • Support current leadership to build an 'Elixir' camp, allowing us to hire non-Elixir engineers and training them into the roles;
  • Understand the thoughts, feelings and ambitions of the engineering teams. 

WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE:

  • You have exceptional architectural and programming skills, exhibited from +10 years of continuous promotion within engineering functions;
  • You must be passionate about company’s mission;
  • You have a high-quality pedigree with innovative and leading former companies on your CV;
  • You have created high-performance technical organizations in the past;
  • You have high emotional intelligence with equally high communication skills;
  • You must be fluent in Russian and English (no exceptions, 30 people on the tech team are Ukrainian).

COMPANY OFFERS:

  • Remote full-time job (although office in Kyiv near Olympiiska, you can visit it from time to time);
