Limited candidates with relevant experience, high market competition, English proficiency requirements, and confidentiality constraints (inability to disclose all details to candidates immediately).
We faced a large influx of irrelevant candidates, making it difficult to identify suitable ones among the resumes.
We expanded our search, experimented, and reached out to candidates from various industries that could potentially be suitable. We utilized both direct and indirect search methods.
Candidates were presented within 12 and 18 days of starting the search and were hired within 1-2 months (40 and 65 days).

EU PROPULSION TALENT SECURED

PROPULSION ENGINEER (SOLID ROCKET MOTORS)

LOCATION: EUROPETIME-TO-PRESENT: 105 DAYSTIME-TO-HIRE: 277 DAYS

The search for the Senior Propulsion Engineer position was initiated at the end of 2024. The key requirement was an engineer with hands-on experience in solid propellant rocket engines. 
Initially, the search was focused on the Ukrainian market. However, it quickly became clear that the number of specialists with the required expertise in the country was extremely limited.
As a result, the search geography was expanded beyond Ukraine, including Poland and other European locations. In total, 10 candidates with varying levels of qualification were presented to the client during this search.
Two candidates reached the offer stage. Because of employment-related challenges in the country, relocation was possible for only one candidate.
The position proved to be highly complex and narrowly specialized. The total time to fill the vacancy was 277 days, while the final candidate was identified after approximately 105 days of active search.

TWO ENGINEERING HIRES FROM ONE SEARCH

ENGINEERING MANAGER

LOCATION: UKRAINETIME-TO-PRESENT: 9 DAYSTIME-TO-HIRE: 40 DAYS

The objective of the search was to fill the Engineering Manager position with a primary focus on candidates experienced in leading engineering teams and possessing strong expertise in hardware engineering, embedded systems, and R&D.
An important requirement was Kyiv-based location, as the candidate was expected to join the R&D activities immediately, work in a hybrid model, and be present in the office periodically rather than working fully remotely.
During the search, 6 relevant candidates were presented to the client, 2 of whom generated particular interest. One of them was hired for the Engineering Manager role.
Although there were some initial concerns due to the candidate’s limited experience in embedded engineering and lack of startup background, in practice the candidate adapted quickly, acquired the necessary knowledge, and integrated well into the team. As a result, the client was fully satisfied with the cooperation.
The second strong candidate also received an offer for a different position within the company.

FOUND A RARE DRONE EXPERT IN 2 DAYS

SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER

LOCATION: POLANDTIME-TO-PRESENT: 2 DAYSTIME-TO-HIRE: 4 MONTHS

The position was highly specialized, requiring experts with experience in the aviation industry or drone production. 
Most specialists in Poland work in civilian vehicle production, without confidentiality restrictions, and openly share their information. Yet, our search remained highly limited.
We broadened our search to include all European countries, prioritizing those near Poland. Ultimately, we hired a local candidate, who was among the first we identified.
The candidate was identified within two days of posting the job. He passed all interviews, but due to project funding delays caused by the general blocking of financial assistance from the U.S., the offer was made nearly four months later.
He started working almost immediately after accepting.

DELIVERED BEST FIT BEYOND INITIAL SPECS IN 16 DAYS

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

LOCATION: UKRAINETIME-TO-PRESENT: 16 DAYSTIME-TO-HIRE: 55 DAYS

Discrepancies emerged between the initial job request and feedback from the candidate review process. Additionally, candidates were not being interviewed by the hiring manager.
To resolve this, we maintained constant communication with the client, refining job requirements and the review process multiple times to better align with the company’s needs.
The hired candidate didn’t fully match the initial job description, underscoring the importance of direct collaboration with hiring managers. By gathering feedback and refining the recruiting process, we ensure a precise fit for the role.
The hired candidate was presented within 16 days of starting the search. An offer was made 48 days later, and the candidate began working 55 days after the search commenced.

SECURED A TWO IN ONE ELECTRONICS EXPERT

SENIOR ELECTRONICS DESIGNER (PCB)

LOCATION: UKRAINETIME-TO-PRESENT: 21 DAYSTIME-TO-HIRE: 55 DAYS

The goal of this search was to fill a Senior Electronics Designer position. The key requirement was to find an engineer who combines strong expertise in circuit design and PCB layout, using Altium Designer. The main challenge was to find a single specialist who could effectively cover both competencies.
The preferred location for the candidate was Kyiv; however, during the search it became clear that the local talent pool with the required level of expertise was limited. As a result, the search geography was expanded.
The final candidate was located in another city. Due to the candidate’s strong experience and full alignment with the technical requirements, the company decided to proceed with a remote collaboration model. 
The candidate is currently working remotely and performing successfully. In total, 6 candidates were presented to the client during this search.
